Important Notes:

The Frantic4 font is a truetype font based on the characters used in the StatusQuo logo. These are not a definitive design of the characters, they are my interpretation of these characters. You may or may not agree with them. Most letters, numbers and punctuation have been included although some may not be included in this version.

The Quodings font is a dingbats truetype font. All the characters in this font are images or logos that have some significance within the band. Some characters are faces from the different line-ups through the years whilst others are of the various album images used in the "From the makers of..." logos.

The fonts have been tested on Windows 9x, 2000,NT & XP. They are still untested on Windows Vista. I make no warranty that these fonts work on your computer or with the various pieces of software that use them.

These fonts are supplied "as is" and are free for non-commercial use only but if you are happy with them and use them you may wish to make a small donation (a Paypal link is found near the bottom of this page) to keep this site running. Bandwidth isn't cheap and this site gets 100's of hits per day so a few pennies here would help considerably.

Although free, these fonts are copyrighted pieces of software and shall not be placed on any compilation CD or any other website without my prior knowledge and permission. If you wish, why not place a link on your website linking directly to this page? Therefore, I get to see how many times these fonts are downloaded and you always get the latest version. If you pass on these fonts to a friend then always supply the complete zip file which includes all the legal mumbo-jumbo and other info too.

Commercial usage:

If for some strange reason you wish to use these fonts in a commercial environment (probably for selling dodgy items on eBay), then please use the donation link at the bottome of this page as a commercial usage fee of approx £12/€15/$20 is required.

History:

The "Frantic4" font is based on the British rock band Status Quo's logo. Creating the "StatusQuo" logo *may* constitute copyright infringement. I do not know!

After searching for a couple of years on the internet without any luck, I decided to create this font due to high demand on the message board forums of the official Status Quo web-site. It was originally available from myself as a font called "Quovers". This font was only supplied with the characters a-z and A-Z. Today, most characters are available. The dingbats font "Quodings" was a separate thought. I decided that I wanted a font that had the album logos used in the "From the makers of..." series found at the bottom of all the classic line-up albums for my own use on websites. This was expanded upon with other images and logos.

Other Problems:

If you do have a problem with the font, please check with this site if you have the latest version. You may find the problem you have has been fixed in a latest release. Otherwise register on the forum and post your query there.

If you use either of these fonts on a website then if used as standard text, it may not appear as text in the "StatusQuo" style writing. You rely upon the person viewing the pages to have these fonts installed on their computer (a real bad move). Instead, use your favourite graphics package (such as PaintShopPro, Photoshop or even MS Paint) to create a small image using the required font and save it as a jpeg or gif (a wiser choice). You'd be surprised at the amount of people who fall into the first scenario. If you're unsure how to do this then look at the documentaion supplied with your graphics program.

Some useful shortcuts:

Instead of typing out "certain" words a few shortcuts have already been made for you. Please use the following characters:

In the Frantic4 font:
$ = StatusQuo
% = Status
^ = Quo

In the Quodings font:
Q = StatusQuo
R = Status
S = Quo

Thanks for using this font.
