Dog of Two Head (or the "dog" album as it's referred to) was the last of four albums released on the Pye label.
Following on in the direction set by "Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon" this album laid down the true musical spirit that was to become the Status Quo phenomenon. Opening with the awesome hard blues Umleitung (co-written by keyboardist Roy Lynes before his departure) this track had all the hallmarks of a true Quo classic. Mean Girl was released as a single two years after this album! Something's Going on in My Head harks back to their earlier psychedelic period whereas the hard hitting Someone's Learning and the epic Railroad really do give your ears a blast. It's not all rock 'n' roll as the acoustic Nanana and folksy Gerdundula prove. Very raw production values add to the enjoyment of this album.
