What's this I hear? Horns, loud keyboards and female backing vocals? Is this still Status Quo? Apparently so.
To be honest, it's not as bad as it sounds. There's still an awful lot of guitar sound at the front of the mix so all is not lost. Still, it's a very, very poppy sound but is an improvement from their previous offering. It has a very promising opening in the form of the raunchy rocker Again and Again but then goes off on a tangent with I'm Giving Up My Worryin', Gonna Teach You To Love Me and the ballad Someone Show Me Home. Punchier numbers return with Long Legged Linda and Oh' What A Night and the heavy guitar driven Accident Prone. The tempo reduces again with an anti-climatic Stones but then kicks back up again with the fabulous Let Me Fly and lively Like A Good Girl. Quo meets disco? Perhaps!
Triple pick: Again And Again, Accident Prone & Let Me Fly.
